耶魯大學(xué)2017本科CA申請(qǐng)essay題目變更！申請(qǐng)耶魯難度降低？

據(jù)耶魯大學(xué)官網(wǎng)消息，今年耶魯大學(xué)的本科申請(qǐng)將在三個(gè)申請(qǐng)平臺(tái)上進(jìn)行：Common Application、Coalition Application以及QuestBridge National College Match Application。申請(qǐng)者可選擇三個(gè)系統(tǒng)中任意一個(gè)進(jìn)行申請(qǐng)。

1、Common Application

Common Application即我們中國(guó)留學(xué)生比較熟悉的CA系統(tǒng)，也是美國(guó)大學(xué)申請(qǐng)時(shí)最為常用的系統(tǒng)。申請(qǐng)時(shí)，申請(qǐng)者通常需要完成CA系統(tǒng)的文書(shū)并根據(jù)學(xué)校具體要求再提交1-2份文書(shū)。

今年耶魯大學(xué)將使用CA系統(tǒng)申請(qǐng)的學(xué)生的文書(shū)題目進(jìn)行了更換：.免費(fèi)獲取私人定制留學(xué)方案

舊版本：

Please reflect on something you would like us to know about you that we might not learn from the rest of your application, or on something about which you would like to say more. You may write about anything — from personal experiences or interests to intellectual pursuits.

更換后新版本：

Please choose two of the following topics and respond to each in 200 words or fewer.

1. What is a community to which you belong? Reflect on the footprint that you have left. (You may define community and footprint in any way you like.)

2. Reflect on a time in the last few years when you felt genuine excitement learning about something.

3. Write about something that you love to do.

Optional Engineering and Computer Science Essay

If you selected one of the computer science or engineering majors, please tell us more about what has led you to an interest in this field of study, what experiences (if any) you have had in computer science or engineering, and what it is about Yale’s program in this area that appeals to you. 可以看出，更換后的新文書(shū)問(wèn)題更加明確具體，縮小了申請(qǐng)者的選題范圍，看上去似乎難度有所降低。不過(guò)換個(gè)角度看，小而精的題目對(duì)申請(qǐng)者的文筆和講述故事的能力要求更高，如何在同類(lèi)文書(shū)中脫穎而出需要申請(qǐng)者多花點(diǎn)心思了。

另外，新的文書(shū)題目也凸顯出耶魯對(duì)申請(qǐng)者在社區(qū)活動(dòng)或經(jīng)歷方面的重視，并且對(duì)于申請(qǐng)如熱門(mén)的工程和計(jì)算機(jī)科學(xué)專(zhuān)業(yè)的申請(qǐng)者學(xué)習(xí)動(dòng)機(jī)和熱情也是校方重要考察的點(diǎn)。

2、Coalition Application

Coalition Application系統(tǒng)是近幾年才興起的一個(gè)申請(qǐng)平臺(tái)，目前只有90多所美國(guó)大學(xué)使用該系統(tǒng)。

耶魯大學(xué)規(guī)定，使用該系統(tǒng)進(jìn)行申請(qǐng)的學(xué)生除了要完成系統(tǒng)上要求的文書(shū)之外，還需提交一份記錄過(guò)去四年對(duì)你有重要意義事件的電子檔案或者你的重要作品，形式可以是文檔、圖片、音頻文件或視頻，主題需要跟以下兩個(gè)題目之一相關(guān)，并寫(xiě)一份不超過(guò)250詞的文書(shū)進(jìn)行闡述。

2. A time in the last few years when you felt genuine excitement learning about something.

另外，使用CA系統(tǒng)或Coalition Application系統(tǒng)的申請(qǐng)者都需要進(jìn)行Short Answer Questions環(huán)節(jié)，回答下列問(wèn)題：

1. Students at Yale have plenty of time to explore their academic interests before committing to one or more major fields of study. Many students either modify their original academic direction or change their minds entirely. As of this moment, what academic areas seem to fit your interests or goals most comfortably? 2. Why do these areas appeal to you? (100 words or fewer)

3、QuestBridge National College Match Application

QuestBridge National College Match Application系統(tǒng)又被稱(chēng)為大學(xué)匹配系統(tǒng)，是由一對(duì)醫(yī)生夫婦于1994年創(chuàng)辦的非盈利機(jī)構(gòu)，主要是為了幫助來(lái)自低收入家庭的資優(yōu)高中生提供免費(fèi)就讀美國(guó)頂尖大學(xué)和獲得獎(jiǎng)學(xué)金的機(jī)會(huì)。國(guó)際生也可以申請(qǐng)，但是通常要求是在美國(guó)就讀高中的國(guó)際申請(qǐng)者才可以申請(qǐng)，并且也不是所有的QuestBridge合作院校都接受。
